2-Chloro-4'-hydroxybenzophenone (HCBP) is a chemical compound that is used as a catalyst in the production of polycarbonates. It is also used in the manufacture of other chemicals, such as plastics, rubber, and varnishes. HCBP has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the cleavage of chloride salts from aluminium and aluminium chloride.
