- 4-Chlor-6-nitrochinazolin
- Quinazoline, 4-chloro-6-nitro-
4-Chloro-6-nitroquinazoline is a chemical compound that is used as an antimicrobial agent. This molecule irreversibly inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which leads to the suppression of cancer cell growth and the inhibition of tumor invasion. In vitro studies have shown that 4-Chloro-6-nitroquinazoline has inhibitory levels against epidermal growth factor (EGF) and other growth factors such as fibroblast growth factor (FGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming growth factor alpha (TGFα). It also has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, and Enterococcus faecium.
