Description

6-Chloro-8-aminoquinoline is a benzoyl peroxide derivative that exhibits potent fungicidal activity against Aspergillus and Myrothecium. 6-Chloro-8-aminoquinoline can be hydrolyzed to 8-nitroquinoline, which has been shown to have fungitoxic effects in vitro. The mechanism of action of 6-chloro-8-aminoquinoline is unclear, but it may involve halogenation or nitrobenzene formation. The yield for this reaction is low, so the intermediate and final products are not easily isolated.
