Description:
2-(2-Chloroethoxy)acetyl chloride is a lipid inhibitor that is used to lower triglycerides and cholesterol levels in humans. It inhibits the action of lipases, which are enzymes that break down triglycerides. 2-(2-Chloroethoxy)acetyl chloride has been shown to reduce plasma lipid levels, including cholesterol and triglycerides, in patients with high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL). This drug is not currently approved for use in the United States.
