Description:
4-Chloromethyl-2-methyl-1,3-thiazole, hydrochloride is a phenol that can be used as a retardant. It has been shown to have some potential as a nitrogen and chloroethyl solvent. 4-Chloromethyl-2-methyl-1,3-thiazole, hydrochloride is also a dianhydride that may be used in the production of 2,5-dibromoterephthalic acid. 4CMT hydrochloride is also an isothiocyanate that can react with thiol groups to form an addition product.
