Description:
1-(4-Chloromethyl-2-thiazoyl)guanidine hydrochloride salt is a thiazole derivative that exhibits antiulcer activity. It inhibits gastric acid secretion and reduces the incidence of ulcers in experimental animals. 1-(4-Chloromethyl-2-thiazoyl)guanidine hydrochloride salt is chemically related to famotidine, an H2 receptor antagonist used for the treatment of peptic ulcers.
