2-Chloronicotinoyl chloride is an organic compound that is used in the process optimization of organic synthesis. It is a member of the class of compounds called chloronicotinyls, which are also known as chloronicotinic esters. These compounds are used in the preparation of hydrochloric acid, which is generated by the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium carbonate. 2-Chloronicotinoyl chloride is also used to inhibit the proliferation of cells in biological systems.
