Clorazepic acid dipotasium salt is a benzodiazepine with anticonvulsant and anxiolytic activity. It is metabolized to clorazepate, which has a longer half-life than the parent drug. Clorazepic acid dipotasium salt can be administered orally, intravenously, or intramuscularly. The drug is not active when taken orally and must be converted to clorazepate before it can exert its effects. Clorazepic acid dipotasium salt has been shown to have minimal toxicity in humans and animals. This drug has been shown to have a dose-dependent effect on δ receptors and serotonergic activity, but does not affect dopamine receptors or histamine H1 receptors. Clorazepic acid dipotasium salt binds to the benzodiazepine receptor site in the brain and decreases the frequency of seizures by inducing sedation
