CP 47947 is a synthetic cannabinoid that is structurally related to CP 47,497. It has been shown to bind to the CB2 receptor and has been used as a specific antidote for CP 47,497 overdoses. The matrix effect of CP 47947 on autoimmune diseases may be due to its ability to block the production of proinflammatory cytokines. In addition, CP 47947 has been shown to have an antidepressant-like effect in mice by increasing locomotor activity and inducing positive mood-related behaviors. It has also been found that CP 47947 activates the cb2 receptor in humans and exerts an analgesic effect similar to morphine. The conformational properties of CP 47947 are different from those of other cannabinoids because it contains a methylene group attached to the phenyl ring at position 2 rather than 3.
