Product Information
- b-Oxo-1H-pyrrole-2-propanenitrile2-Pyrroloylacetonitrile
2-Cyanoacetylpyrrole is a heterocyclic compound that was synthesized by catalytic hydrogenation of the corresponding nitrobenzene. It has shown anticancer activity in animal experiments and has been shown to be effective against cancer cells through the use of x-ray diffraction studies. 2-Cyanoacetylpyrrole reacts with aldehydes, such as piperidine, to form a Schiff base, which is an intermediate for many chemical reactions including the synthesis of drugs. This reaction time can be altered by using different catalysts and techniques. 2-Cyanoacetylpyrrole has also been used to study the effect of radiation on DNA.
