2-Chloro-N-methoxy-N-methylacetamide is a synthetic derivative of 2-chloroacetamide. It has been shown to be a potent reductant and can be used for the synthesis of various organic compounds. This compound is also an intermediate in the synthesis of the antiinflammatory drug, ketorolac. The biological properties of this compound are not well understood, but it has been shown that it reduces carbonyl groups to alcohols or amines.
