9(E),11(E)-Octadecadienoic Acid (9,11-ODA) is a conjugated linoleic acid that is found in the human body. It inhibits the polymerase chain reaction and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in 3t3-L1 preadipocytes, which are cells that are used to study the effects of hormones on fat cells. 9,11-ODA has also been shown to have beneficial effects on bowel disease. It has been shown to inhibit hydrogen fluoride induced lipid peroxidation and reduce the levels of linoleic acid in human serum. 9,11-ODA has also been shown to have inhibitory properties against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and Clostridium difficile infections.
