Description

Cyclohexylacetone is a colorless liquid that is used as a solvent for the production of pharmaceutical preparations. It has been used to produce methyl ketones, which are intermediates in the synthesis of polymers and plastics. Cyclohexylacetone has also been shown to be an optimal reaction intermediate for the preparation of zirconium oxide. This compound is used as a polymerization initiator and as a fluorine-containing reagent in organic synthesis. Cyclohexylacetone can react with divalent hydrocarbons to form esters and cyclooctyl compounds.
