Description:

4-Chloropyridine-2-carboxamide is a novel drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is a competitive inhibitor of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and inhibits its activity by binding to the active site of CYP3A4. 4-Chloropyridine-2-carboxamide has been found to be active against human liver cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as in lung cancer cells. It also shows tuberculostatic activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex, which may be due to its ability to bind DNA and RNA.
