4-Chloro-6-iodoquinazoline is a synthetic molecule that binds to the tyrosine kinase domain of trifluoroacetic acid polymerase chain (TFPPC) and inhibits its activity. 4-Chloro-6-iodoquinazoline has been shown to have antifilarial and anti-cancer properties. In addition, it has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of epidermal growth factor (EGF), which is a potent mitogen for cells in culture. In clinical studies, 4-chloro-6-iodoquinazoline has been shown to be safe for use in humans.
