Product Information
- 3-Quinolinecarboxaldehyde, 2-chloro-7-methoxy-
2-Chloro-7-methoxy-quinoline-3-carbaldehyde is a quinoline derivative that has been shown to have antiinflammatory activity in animal models of inflammatory diseases. 2CQA has been shown to bind to the CB2 receptor, which is one of the endocannabinoid receptors. The binding of 2CQA to the CB2 receptor can inhibit inflammation by inhibiting fatty acid production and reducing the production of proinflammatory cytokines that are responsible for inflammation. This drug also has potential as an analgesic agent in cancer pain management, as well as being useful in treating autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and pancreatitis. 2CQA is synthesized by reacting chloroacetyl chloride with 3-hydroxybenzoic acid (3HB). This reaction produces a carbonyl group at the position adjacent to the carbonyl group on the aromatic ring, which is then reduced with magnesium oxide.
