Product Information
- 2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzo[d]thiazole
- 2-Chloro-6-Fluoro-1,3-Benzothiazole
2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzothiazole is a potent inhibitor of diacylglycerol acyltransferase, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of triglycerides. It has been shown to inhibit the enzymatic activity of this enzyme and decrease triglyceride levels by inhibiting the production of fatty acids. 2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzothiazole is also a potent inhibitor of carboxylic acid reductase, which converts acetate and long chain fatty acids into fatty acid esters. This drug has been shown to reduce triglyceride levels in a pharmacokinetic study on rats. 2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzothiazole also inhibits the activity of enzymes that catalyze triglyceride hydrolysis, leading to decreased lipid synthesis.
