Description:
Cyclopentanecarboxamidine Hydrochloride is a prodrug that is metabolized to produce thiophenes. It has been shown to be effective in treating viral diseases such as herpes simplex, varicella zoster, and cytomegalovirus. Cyclopentanecarboxamidine Hydrochloride has also been shown to have antiviral properties against influenza virus, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme thiophene synthase. Cyclopentanecarboxamidine Hydrochloride has a basic structure and inhibits the growth of microorganisms by binding with their DNA at active sites on the nucleic acid molecule. This leads to inhibition of protein synthesis, cell division, and ultimately cell death.
