Cloprostenol is a synthetic prostaglandin analogue. It is used to induce ovulation in animals and humans, as an aid in fertility treatment, and for diagnostic purposes. Cloprostenol has been shown to be an efficient method of inducing follicular growth and ovulation in mammals. The diameter of the follicle is measured before treatment and then again at the time of ovulation to see if the drug has been effective. Cloprostenol acts by stimulating the release of gonadotropins from the pituitary gland, which results in increased production of estrogens by the ovaries. This drug can also be used to stimulate ovarian activity and increase sperm production in men with low sperm counts. In addition, cloprostenol induces pluripotent cells from mammalian cells that are capable of differentiating into various cell types (autologous stem cells). These cells can be used for tissue regeneration or transplants.br>
