(4-Chlorophenyl)acetic acid hydrazide is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the dihedral group of catalysed compounds. It has been shown to be active against a variety of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, and Bacillus subtilis. This compound also has strong anti-inflammatory effects in vivo. (4-Chlorophenyl)acetic acid hydrazide is an analog of pyrazoline, which is a naturally occurring chemical found in plants. The connection between this chemical and pyrazoline may be due to the similarity in their structures. Hydrazine reacts with hydrogen peroxide to form hydroxylamine, which is an antioxidant compound. (4-Chlorophenyl)acetic acid hydrazide is stabilized by hydrogen bonds from its carbonyl group and hydroxyl group with the amino group on the benzene ring.
