Product Information
Calcium levofolinate is a calcium salt of levofolinate. It is used in the treatment of hyperproliferative diseases and metastatic colorectal cancer. Calcium levofolinate is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, where it is converted to levofolinate. It has been shown that calcium levofolinate inhibits the growth of tumor cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis and inducing apoptosis. The drug can be used as an alternative to leucovorin in patients with deficiency type conditions such as folate deficiency. Calcium levofolinate also has anti-infectious properties and can be used for the treatment of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria.
