3-Chlorobenzoyl chloride is an organic compound that is used in the preparation of fatty acids. The light emission from 3-chlorobenzoyl chloride is dependent on the structure of the acylating agent, which may be either an acid or a base. Acetylation reactions are catalyzed by light and require a catalyst such as dibutyltin oxide or hydrochloric acid for initiation. Women who have IBD should avoid exposure to this chemical due to its carcinogenic properties.
