Copper (II) bromide is a copper salt that is used in the synthesis of bicyclic heterocycles. It is prepared by adding potassium dichromate to a solution of copper chloride and methyl ethyl. The resulting reaction generates an electrochemical impedance spectrum that can be used to identify the process optimization. The nitrogen atoms in this compound are bound to two copper atoms, which form the basis for its cox-2 inhibitory properties. Copper (II) bromide reacts with water vapor to produce hydrogen bromide and copper oxide:
CuBr + H2O → Cu(OH)2 + HBr
