Product Information
- 2-Chloro-6-Methoxypyridine-4-Carboxylic Acid
2-Chloro-6-methoxyisonicotinic acid is a synthetic compound that has potent anticancer activity. It binds to DNA and inhibits the activity of topoisomerases, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of DNA. 2-Chloro-6-methoxyisonicotinic acid also inhibits protein synthesis and induces apoptosis in cells. The anticancer efficacy of this drug has been shown by its ability to inhibit the growth of human colon carcinoma (HCT116) cells in vitro and in vivo. This drug has also been used to treat breast cancer (MCF7) cells with high potency. It is a fluorescent probe that can be used as an imaging agent for positron emission tomography (PET). The uptake of 2-chloro-6-methoxyisonicotinic acid into tumor cells is dependent on the expression level of recombinant human organic cation transporter 1 (hOCT1) protein, which transports
