N-Carboxymethyl-N-phosphonomethyl-glycine is an inorganic acid that is used as a strong base. It is a component of the reaction solution for phosphite oxidation with sodium hydroxide and is also used in biological treatment. N-Carboxymethyl-N-phosphonomethyl-glycine can be produced by the reaction of sodium hydroxide with phosphite and has been shown to have a high solubility in water, making it suitable for wastewater treatment. This compound can also be produced by deuterium isotope exchange using solid catalyst, which may affect its chemical reactivity. FTIR spectroscopy has been used to study the oxidation catalyst activity of this compound at various chloride concentrations, indicating that hydrochloric acid and activated carbon are required for complete oxidation. The monosodium salt form of this compound is available commercially.END>>
