Description:

2-Chloroanthraquinone is a synthetic biphenyl-2-carboxylic acid that reacts with amines to form peroxides. It is oxidized by photooxidation in polyvinyl chloride, which leads to the formation of chloroamines. 2-Chloroanthraquinone has been used as an intermediate for the production of many other compounds, including ginsenoside rg1, which has been shown to have antiinflammatory effects. The mechanism for the reaction of 2-chloroanthraquinone with amines is still unclear. The functional theory and mechanistic study are two possible explanations for this reaction.
