Product Information
- Quinazoline, 2-chloro-
2-Chloroquinazoline is a chlorinating agent that reacts with hydrochloric acid to form a reactive species. This reactive species can react with other molecules in the cell, such as DNA, proteins, and lipids to produce toxic substances that are responsible for cancer and inflammatory diseases. 2-Chloroquinazoline also has anti-inflammatory properties which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of growth factors by epidermal cells.
2-Chloroquinazoline is used in the synthesis of quinoline derivatives such as cinchonidine and aminopyrine. It also has potent antitumor activity against certain types of cancer cells in culture.
