Cbz-D-(-)-Phenylglycine is a reagent that is used in organic synthesis. It is an aminohydroxamic acid derivative and acts as a mild oxidizing agent for the epoxidation of alkenes, including hydrogenation of double bonds and hydroxylation of aromatic compounds. This product can be used to produce l-amino acids from racemic mixtures, which are often obtained from natural sources. Cbz-D-(-)-Phenylglycine has been shown to be effective in the industrial production of large quantities of l-amino acids and can be used as a building block for the modification of other compounds.
