(E)-3-[2-Cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-quinolinyl]-2-propenal is a fluorescent compound that has been shown to undergo electron transfer, fluorescence, and photophysical reactions. It has been found to have a wavelength of 350 nm, which is in the range of UV light. This molecule is an electron donor and acceptsors, which can be changed by varying the solvent or by altering the other parameters such as pH or temperature. The solvents that are most commonly used are dichloromethane, chloroform, benzene, and acetonitrile. (E)-3-[2-Cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-quinolinyl]-2-propenal has been shown to have a thermally induced emission spectrum with an emission maximum at about 400 nm.
