Product Information
6-Chlorobenzo[b]thiophene is a hydrogen bond acceptor that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, and antipsychotic properties. The drug binds to the serotonin receptor in the central nervous system and can be used as an antidepressant. It also has affinity for chloride channels and may be used as an analgesic or neuroleptic. 6-Chlorobenzo[b]thiophene is structurally related to piperidine and piperazine and has been shown to have pharmacophore activity with x-ray crystal structures of two compounds: 6-chloro-N1-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methyl]-N2-(piperidin-2-ylmethyl)benzothiophene (6CBTMP) and 6-chloro-N1-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-N2-(piperid
