Product Information
- Pyrido[3,4-D]Pyrimidine, 4-Chloro-
4-Chloropyrido[3,4-d]pyrimidine is a heterocyclic compound that belongs to the pyrimidine family. It can be synthesized by reacting 2-chloro-3-nitropyridine with potassium tert-butoxide in an aqueous solution of ethanol. 4-Chloropyrido[3,4-d]pyrimidine can be converted into other heterocycles by different methods and has been used as a synthon for many other pyrimidines. This functional group has five members, which are interconnected by single bonds and form a ring system with alternating single and double bonds. The 5 atoms of this ring system are arranged in the shape of a pyramid (trigonal). There are two isomers: 4-(2,6) and 4-(2,5).
