2-Chloro-D-phenylalanine (2CPA) is a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of developmental brain disorders. It has been shown to be effective in the prevention and treatment of glutamate-induced neuronal death, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of key enzymes such as glutamine synthetase and glutamate decarboxylase. 2CPA also has a protective effect against undernutrition, with results showing that it can prevent or reverse abnormalities in brain development.
