Description:
2-Cyano-L-phenylalanine is a chiral amino acid that can be used as a building block in the synthesis of glycopeptides. It is formed by an asymmetric transfer of the phenyl group from L-phenylalanine to 2-cyanoacrylic acid. The stereoisomers of 2-cyano-L-phenylalanine are optically active and can be used in the synthesis of peptides with desired properties.
