Description:
Cyclo(-L-Phe-L-Ser) is a diagnostic tool that can be used to detect aspergillosis. It is a peptide that contains the amino acid lysine, which can be detected by mass spectrometry. Cyclo(-L-Phe-L-Ser) has been shown to have an excretive profile in intestinal tissue and has been used for the diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis in humans. This peptide also binds to the surface of eukaryotic cells and can therefore be used to detect aspergillosis in blood samples and other fluids.
