Product Information
- 1-Chloro-3,4-dihydro-naphthalene-2-carbaldehyde
1-Chloro-3,4-dihydro-2-naphthalenecarbaldehyde (1CDN) is a triazole that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. 1CDN has been shown to be an effective and selective inhibitor of gram-negative bacteria as well as an antimicrobial agent against gram-positive bacteria. The efficacy of this compound is enhanced by the presence of a radionuclide such as gamma rays or x-rays. 1CDN has also been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in human monocytes, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase activity.
