Description:
8-Chloro-2-chloromethyl-6-trifluoromethyl imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is a benzimidazole derivative that is used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It has been shown to modulate androgen receptor activity. 8-Chloro-2-chloromethyl-6-trifluoromethyl imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine binds to androgen receptor with high affinity and selectivity, resulting in a conformational change that prevents DNA binding by other steroidal hormones. The drug also has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in culture.
