5'-Chloro-2'-hydroxy-4'-methylacetophenone is a ketone that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It is active against bacteria and fungi and has been shown to be effective in the inhibition of growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans. 5'-Chloro-2'-hydroxy-4'-methylacetophenone also has antiplatelet properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit platelet aggregation.
