Product Information
- Pyridine, 2-chloro-4-methoxy-
2-Chloro-4-methoxypyridine (2C4MP) is a reactive chemical with chlorine that has been used in the synthesis of benzodiazepine binding agents. 2C4MP can be prepared from picolinic acid and trifluoroacetic acid in the presence of an ancillary agent such as pyridine, chloroform, or methylene chloride. A variety of halides may be employed to generate 2C4MP, including bromide, iodide, and chlorides. The conversion of 2C4MP to benzodiazepine binding agents is efficient and can be accomplished through a tautomeric shift.
