Cyclopentan-1-one oxime is a nitroalkane that is synthesized by the reaction of phosphorus pentachloride and fatty acids. Cyclopentan-1-one oxime has an active methylene group that can react with water vapor to form hydroxylamine. It also reacts with oxygen to form a particle.
