Carbonyldihydrotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium (II) is a hydrogen-bonded ruthenium complex that contains a carbonyl group. It is used in the polymerization of azides and organic solvents, as well as for gel permeation chromatography. The synthesis of this compound requires a copolymerization reaction with an unsymmetrical monomer such as styrene. The structure of this compound has been elucidated by x-ray crystallography and nmr spectroscopy, and its reactivity has been studied using density functional theory.
