Description

3-Chloropropylmethyldimethoxysilane is a carbonyl compound that is used in the production of sealants and adhesives. This chemical reacts with hydrochloric acid, calcium stearate, and piperazine to form cross-links. The reaction products are nonpolar solvents, particles, and antimicrobial agents. 3-Chloropropylmethyldimethoxysilane is chemically bonded to the surface of concrete blocks to prevent water seepage in wastewater treatment plants. It can also be used as an additive in paints and coatings to protect against corrosion or microbial growth on metal surfaces.
