The reaction products are nonpolar solvents, particles, and antimicrobial agents. 3-Chloropropylmethyldimethoxysilane is chemically bonded to the surface of concrete blocks to prevent water seepage in wastewater treatment plants. It can also be used as an additive in paints and coatings to protect against corrosion or microbial growth on metal surfaces.
