Description:

2-Chloro-3-methyl-5-nitropyridine is a crystalline solid with an isomeric composition. It is a monomer that has optical properties. The potassium salt of 2-chloro-3-methyl-5-nitropyridine can be obtained by reacting the sodium salt with potassium hydroxide. 2CMP is used as an intermediate in the production of biphenyl, which is used to make optical films and lenses.
