6-Chloro-2-methyl-3-nitropyridine (6CMP) is a chemical compound that is used in the production of other chemicals. It can be produced by reacting phosphorus pentachloride with triamine, or by chlorinating biphenyl. 6CMP has been used as a catalyst in cross-coupling reactions, such as the formation of amines from nitrites and sodium carbonate. 6CMP also has the ability to form nitro compounds through a chlorinating reaction with potassium nitrite and chlorine gas.
