Product Information
- Pyridine, 2-chloro-5-methoxy- (9CI)
2-Chloro-5-methoxypyridine is a heterocyclic compound that undergoes oxidation of the methyl group to the corresponding quinone. The oxidation potential of 2-chloro-5-methoxypyridine is higher than that of benzaldehyde, which makes it an attractive candidate for cross coupling reactions. It can be used as a precursor in amidation and Suzuki coupling reactions. This chemical has been shown to be effective in catalytic transformations, such as solvation and transformation of molecules. 2-Chloro-5-methoxypyridine has also been found to be useful in computational studies to assess the electronic properties of five membered heterocyclic amines.
