Product Information
- Benzo[b]thiophene-2-carboxylic acid, 3-chloro-6-fluoro-
3-Chloro-6-fluorobenzo[b]thiophene-2-carboxylic acid (3CFTBA) is a mitochondrial activator that has been shown to be a prodrug of 3,4-dichloro-6-fluoro benzoic acid (3DFB). 3CFTBA is an analog of the natural substrate for the enzyme branched chain aminotransferase. This prodrug is metabolized by dephosphorylation to the active form 3DFB, which activates the enzyme and increases its activity. 3CFTBA has been shown to have metabolic stability in primary hepatocytes and muscle cells.
