Description:
Cyclic isopropylidene 1,1-cyclopropanedicarboxylate is an electrophilic reagent that can be used in the preparation of aromatic amines. It has been shown to undergo rearrangements and cyclization reactions with aromatic amines to form heterocycles. Cyclic isopropylidene 1,1-cyclopropanedicarboxylate reacts with chloride to form a chloroformate ester, which can be used for the preparation of triethylbenzylammonium. This compound has also been shown to react with alkyl halides in organic synthesis reactions. Cyclic isopropylidene 1,1-cyclopropanedicarboxylate can be used as a solvent in preparative methods and must be stored under inert conditions.
