Product Information
- 5-Pyrimidinecarboxylic acid, 2-chloro-
2-Chloro-5-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid (2CPCA) is a derivative of 2,4,5,6-tetrachloropyrimidine and is activated in the human body. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of a number of viruses, including human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and influenza A virus. This compound also inhibits IL-6 production by inflamed cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit choline uptake. 2CPCA binds strongly to magnetic particles and can be detected with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The metabolome in urine samples from humans who had consumed 2CPCA was significantly different than those who did not consume this compound.
