Description

7-Chloropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine is a small molecule that binds to the apolipoprotein E4 (apoE4) molecule and thereby prevents the formation of atherosclerotic lesions. This drug can be used in adults to prevent or delay the onset of cardiovascular disease. 7-Chloropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine binds with high affinity to human red blood cells and has been shown to be effective in reducing carbon tetrachloride-induced damage in red blood cells. The drug also interacts with other additives, such as plasma glucose, which may affect its effectiveness. 7-Chloropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine has a short half life and interacts with many drugs that are metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, so it should not be administered concurrently with these drugs.
