Product Information
4-[(4-chlorophenyl)sulfanyl]piperidine hydrochloride (CPP) is a tricyclic compound that has been used as a serotonin receptor antagonist. CPP binds to the 5-HT2A serotonin receptors, which are implicated in depression and anxiety disorders, and blocks their function. CPP also binds to other serotonin receptors, including 5-HT1A and 5-HT2C. CPP has been shown to have antidepressant properties in animal studies. It acts by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain and increasing its availability. This drug may also act as an agonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
